Relay places phone calls for you. You sign in with Apple so your account and call history can follow you across devices.
We store the chat messages you send, the number you asked us to call, the task you wrote, the result of each call, and the transcript of what was said. We also store the name Apple gives us at sign-in, your timezone, your current subscription service allowance, and the calling usage charged against the period in which each call began.
Call audio never passes through our servers. The phone network connects the call directly to the AI voice provider, and Relay receives only the text of what was said. Recordings are not kept by us. What remains after a call is the text transcript and the result.
If you choose a phone number with the system contact picker, Relay receives only the selected name, phone label, and phone number. That selection is sent immediately and stored with the conversation. Relay does not request Contacts permission or receive the rest of your contacts.
Before a call is placed you describe what you need in a chat with our planning assistant. That conversation is stored with the call so you can see what was asked for, and it is sent to OpenAI to work out the task. It is deleted when you delete your account.
Relay discloses that it is an AI assistant calling on your behalf at the start of every call. You are responsible for having a legitimate reason to call the number you enter, and for the recording and disclosure rules that apply where you and the person you are calling are located.
Calls are carried by Telnyx and spoken by OpenAI. Your task text reaches those providers, and the call audio passes between them directly, only to place and conduct the call you asked for. Apple processes subscription payments. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription events so Relay can activate the service allowance for the correct paid period. Relay does not receive your payment card details, sell your data, or use it for advertising.
Your data stays on our servers until you delete your account in Settings. Deleting the account erases your call history, transcripts, planning conversations, and profile, and revokes Relay's Sign in with Apple grant. We retain starter-allowance usage, whether the starter allowance was consumed by a paid subscription, paid-period usage, purchase-event and transaction receipts, refund records, and minimal carrier billing references needed to settle a call that was already placed. These records prevent account deletion from refilling an allowance, replaying a purchase, or charging a late carrier correction to the wrong subscription period. The minimal billing records do not retain the phone number, task, transcript, or call result.
